NORTH Wales Coast West Division One has a new joint-leading goalscorer (league goals only) as of last night.
Talented attacker Luke Baum netted another hat-trick for Talysarn Celts as they beat bottom-of-the-table Bethesda Rovers 9-1 away on Thursday evening.
That victory moved the Celts up to 3rd in the league on 56 points and moved Baum up to being the league’s joint-top scorer on 32 goals (along with Caergybi’s Louis Chapman and Llanystumdwy’s Sion Parry).
Although he is officially top in alphabetical order of those three!
The 20-year-old has been in sensational form throughout the 21/22 season to date, starting the campaign off with a five-goal haul in the Celts’ opening day 9-0 win over Bodorgan.

Since then, Baum has scored 37 goals in 27 appearances in all competitions. He has hit three or more goals in a game on eight different occasions so far too.
In Thursday evening’s match, the Celts were slower than usual getting out of first gear but took the lead on the half-hour mark through Baum. Rovers then shocked them by scoring from the penalty spot through Tom Davies four minutes later – the club having missed two penalties in their 1-0 loss to Llangoed two days earlier.
Baum scored again before half time to give Celts a 2-1 lead at the break. In the second half though, they blew Rovers away with a flurry of goals in quick succession.

Captain Jac Jones scored a penalty of his own on 49mins, before Rhodri Jones (55’) and Jac Usher (57’) also added to the scoreline.
Celts went on a goal frenzy in the last 10mins of the game with Peter Bridges (83’), Gerwyn Williams (87’) and Rhodri Jones again (89’) all on the scoresheet before Baum completed his hat-trick in the dying moments of the game for 9-1.
Another brilliant win for Talysarn who have now racked up 56 points. Darren Usher’s side are also the second-highest scoring team in the league with 93 goals, something that Baum has played a huge part in.
