THE FINAL four of the North Wales Coast Football Association (NWCFA) Junior Challenge Cup has been decided.

Talysarn Celts have made in into the semi finals of the prestigious tournament following a last-gasp 3-2 win over Llanerchymedd.

The Celts will now play fellow North Wales Coast West Division One and Gwynedd-based club Llanystumdwy for a place in the final.

The other semi final will see Cemaes Bay face Llanfairpwll away.

The Celts’ clash away at Llanerchymedd always looked like being a fantastic encounter – having already been called off twice due to the weather.

The star of the day – Luke Baum – fired the visitors in front just 11 minutes into the tie but Llan responded well and found themselves an equaliser just before the half-hour mark through top scorer Gwion Thomas.

The second half played out in a similar fashion as 20-year-old attacker Baum netted again for Talysarn on 57mins – coolly slotting the ball past stand-in keeper Dylan Owen

But Llan defender Dan Thomas brought them back into the tier just seconds later as the drama continued at Tan Parc.

Geth Davies’s freekick out left, floated past Celts captain Gerwyn Williams, into the stride of Thomas, his shot blocked by Tindall, the ensuing scramble between both players saw Thomas getting a toe poke into the Talysarn net.

After a very tough and close-fought encounter between two great sides, it was the Celts who secured their place in the semi finals eventually and in the most dramatic fashion too.

Some sloppy defending by Llan saw the talented Baum into score once more with just seconds left on the clock.

And the attacker made no mistake, notching his 31st goal of the season and his most important one yet.

The Celts will now face Llanystumdwy on Saturday, March 12 as the 2 clubs battle it out for a place in the NWCFA Junior Cup final v either Llanfairpwll or Cemaes Bay.
