MOUNTAIN Rangers are slowly beginning to turn their season around now after undergoing several changes at the start of it.
With many players leaving for pastures new early on in the campaign, manager Alex Philp had a big task on his hand.
But the younger players have stepped up to prove their worth at the club and so have the few experienced players who stuck around.
One of those is Goalkeeper Jason Hughes who has been outstanding once more this season.
When Rangers reformed in 2019/20, the club finished second in the Anglesey League table during a season cut short by the coronavirus pandemic.
Hughes played a massive role in that squad, being part of a stubborn defence which conceded just 16 goals in 15 league matches.
The 32-year-old had the most clean sheets of any goalkeeper in the league that season, was selected in my Anglesey League Team of the Season and was Alex Philp’s Manager’s Player of the Season at Rangers too.
While many others left at the start of this season, Hughes remained loyal and has continued to be a key player for Rangers.
He has picked up 7 Man of the Match awards in 14 appearances in all competitions and has proved to be a top shot-stopper once again.
A player who is much-loved and well-respected at Rangers and it’s not hard to see why.
