THE old saying ‘ageing like a fine wine’ is certainly relevant when it comes to this Glantraeth star.

Glan have began to turn their fortunes around in the North Wales Coast West Premier after what was a difficult start to the season.

The club just recently won 4 matches on the bounce, a run which included an Intermediate Challenge Cup victory over Kinmel Bay.

Steve Smith, who turned 40 years old earlier this season, is known for being a very hard working and versatile player.

He has played in a number of positions during his career which has seen him turning out for the likes of Llanfairpwll, Caernarfon Borough, Gwalchmai and Gaerwen.

Now with Glantraeth, and sponsored by AFEFootballNews for this season, he’s certainly stood out for the club with a string of fine performances this season.

Smith has spent the majority of the season playing as a defender and has picked up 3 goals in 12 matches on tier four.

A solid player who is showing no signs of slowing down!
