CAERGYBI hotshot Louis Chapman returned to the scoresheet in incredible fashion as banged in SEVEN goals in an 11-0 win at Y Fali.
Dale Moffat’s side were in ruthless form against Si Thomas’ team at Cae Mwd on Saturday afternoon and earned a win which took them up to sixth place in the North Wales Coast West table.
Goals from Chapman (14’ and 27’), George Hibbert (13’), Steve Driedyk (21’) and Dave Webb (45+2’) put the visitors 5-0 up at the break.
The second half proved to be the Louis Chapman show as he netted a further hat-trick in the space of nine minutes after the restart (46’, 54’, 56’) before Webb scored again (56’) to make it 9-0 before the hour mark.
Two further goals from the prolific Chapman (62’, 66’) followed to take him up to 33 goals in just 18 appearances this season.
That victorious scoreline of 11-0 was also the biggest of any team this season and the most emphatic win ever in the North Wales Coast West Division One so far – given the fact that this is the inaugural season.
And there was another first of the season on Saturday afternoon too as the North Wales Coast West Division One had its first ever 0-0, played out between Bodorgan and Llangoed.
The match, played at Cae Cynlas, saw both defences stand strong. But – a defining moment in the game came when Llangoed keeper Rhys Owen managed to deny Connor Rees from the penalty spot with a great save on 70mins.
That result leaves Bodorgan unbeaten in five matches going into next week’s game at Bethesda Athletic – who they played out a 5-4 thriller against last time around, a win which went in Pesda’s favour late on.
Elsewhere, Llanerchymedd picked up a crucial 1-0 win at Holyhead Town to stay at the top of the league.
Despite Town enduring a difficult season to date, they certainly showed great heart against their title-chasing opponents in this one.
Llan top scorer Gwion Thomas provided the winning goal of the game just a minute into the second half – his 13th goal of the season.
Bethesda Athletic are now second in the table on goal difference after a 3-1 win over Bontnewydd.
A Joe Todd penalty set Athletic on their way early on in the first half, as he netted his 15th goal in as many matches this season.
Kyle Hartleb made it 2-0 just three minutes into the second half but Bont’s rising star Osian McGuinness halved the deficit on the hour-mark.
A goal from another Osian – Hughes – on 64 mins proved to be the eventual final say in the match as Athletic climbed into second spot.
Cemaes Bay kept the pressure on at the top of the table and remained second following a 4-2 win at Mountain Rangers.
Dewi Cooke put the ever-improving Rangers side ahead 16mins into the tie at Cae’r Gors but goals from Geraint Jones (18’) and Bay top scorer Matty Reynolds (31’) turned the tie on its head before half time.
Jones scored again to make it 3-2 on 53mins before Reynolds helped himself to a brace and gave the visitors a two-goal cushion on 65mins.
A Jason Taylor goal 77mins in set up a tense finale but Bay hung on for another crucial 3 points in the hunt for the title.
Finally, a stoppage time penalty meant that Llanystumdwy claimed a point at high-flying Llanfairpwll.
Veteran forward Darren Parry, 35, fired the Gwynedd side ahead just six minutes into the tie.
But, as has so often been the case this season, Pwll’s two heroes stepped up to help them out. Marky Holland (18’) scored from the penalty spot and Jay Finter netted his 20th goal of the season to make it 2-1 at the break at Maes Eilian.
But it was another hero who had the last laugh in the end in this one – league top scorer Sion Parry stepping up to fire home a 91st minute penalty to salvage a point for Stumdwy.
