THE friendlies continued for Anglesey and Gwynedd clubs yesterday evening and this afternoon with plenty of goals scored as players begin to regain fitness and confidence.
Last night, tier four side Bodedern Athletic came out on top v tier five club Llangoed with a 4-1 victory thanks to goals from Shaun Jenkins, Dan Owen, Justin Williams and Casey Gregg.
Ricky Williams’ side triumphed comfortably on the night but Llangoed, managed by David ‘Twm’ Thomas for the first time battled bravely with debutante Anthony Williams, who recently transferred over from Llandegfan, the goal scorer for them.

In a lively match, there was also a penalty save from Llangoed goalkeeper Rhys Owen and positive debuts from young players Cian Williams, Connor O’Neill, Deio Roberts and Harri Gregson – all aged just 16/17 years old.
Today, there were plenty of friendlies played to help get our local footballers sharp for the new campaign ahead.
Amlwch Town enjoyed a fine 4-2 away win at Pentraeth. Robin Morris and Cian Evans-Hughes we’re on target for the hosts but a hat-trick from Jac Thomas alongside a goal from the talented Ryan Rowlands secured the win for Town at Bryniau Fields.
And that brought back his infamous dab too (below!)

There was also a very impressive win for Caergybi who beat their higher league opponents Glantraeth 5-2 at Millbank.
Michael Edwards got things off to a great start for Dale Moffat’s side with a stunning 25-yard free kick before Glan equalised with a great strike from the edge of the box.
Craig Moore then fired Cybi back in front through a penalty before the visitors equalised once more following some great play down the right hand side. 2-2 at half time.
Another penalty – this time scored by Louis Chapman – saw Cybi back in front in the second 45 before Moore finished well to put them 4-2 up. The in-form Chapman then scored his second of the afternoon with a composed finish to complete the score line and earn Caergybi a fine victory.

Bethesda Athletic put in a great display themselves as they beat Llanfairpwll 2-0 at Parc Meurig. Mark Hughes’ side’s goals were scored by Tomos Hughes and Adrian Roberts.
Elsewhere today – Aberffraw beat the club they share a pitch with nowadays, Bodorgan, 2-1 and Mountain Rangers enjoyed a narrow 1-0 victory over fellow tier five side Arriva Bangor, Simon Kay slotting away a penalty.
Tier five Cefni battled hard against higher league opponents Menai Tigers but ultimately lost out 4-1.
Danny Jones’ side went 1-0 up through Nathan Lewis but goals from former Caernarfon Town man Danny Brookwell (2), Kelvin Frazier and an own goal helped the Tigers turn the tie on its head.
