IT’S always nice to see players return to clubs they have previously thrived at.
When Cefni formed in the Anglesey League in 2018, forward Nathan Lewis was a big part of their first season of existence. Now, he’s back at Isgraig and he’ll definitely be one to watch in 2021/22.
Before landing at the Llangefni-based club in three years ago, Lewis was with Richard Owen’s Bryngwran Bulls and he proved to be a great player there too – despite not playing every game.
In the 2017/18 season, he hit 11 goals in all Anglesey League competitions for the Bulls. He also scored a vital goal in the 2-1 win over Mynydd Tigers that season to secure the Dargie Cup for his side.

A season later, he signed for Cefni with brothers Paul and Lee also signing on for the newly-formed team.
Lewis went into the history books when he scored the club’s official first-ever goal in a match against Bodorgan and went on to finish as the club’s top scorer that campaign with 13 goals to his name. He finished that season by scoring in a shock 2-1 win over his former side, the Bulls, who won the league that season.
In 2019/20, Lewis went on to try his hand at higher league football with Caergybi, who had been promoted to the Gwynedd League after finishing as AL runners-up a season earlier. The forward finished the season, which was cut shot by the Coronavirus pandemic, with four goals.
Ahead of the new campaign, which will see Cefni play in the newly-formed North Wales Coast West Division One (tier five), Lewis has now returned to the club he made a huge impact for previously.

Now led by former Pentraeth Reserves manager Danny Jones, Cefni will be looking to cause quite a few upsets to the league’s so called ‘big clubs’ and Lewis will go a long way towards helping them on their way I’m sure.
A pacey striker whose also got a fantastic finish on him, he should prove to be a handful to many a defender in 21/22 – as he has already proven with goals against Gaerwen and Valley in the club’s pre-season games to date.
