ONE of the most eye-catching signings at tier two level on transfer deadline day came courtesy of Colwyn Bay who signed prolific goalscorer Llyr Morris on loan.
The forward, best known for his time banging in the goals at Ruthin Town, signed for JD Cymru Premier last summer.
However, he has now made a temporary move to Craig Hogg’s side for the remainder of the JD Cymru North campaign when football resumes.
Despite being only 24 years old, Morris (below) already has a wealth of footballing experience at tier two level. Having joined Ruthin when he was 11 years old, he worked his way through the ranks to become the first team’s star player and top scorer in a number of seasons.

He then signed for Bala Town last summer, ahead of their Europa League campaign, and was in their squad for the 1-0 win in Malta against Valetta and the 2-0 defeat to Standard Liege in Belgium.
On signing the player on loan, Colwyn Bay manager Craig Hogg said: “We’re very pleased that we’ve been able to bring in Llyr from Bala on loan until the end of the season.
“Llyr had a solid goal-scoring record in Tier 2 North for Ruthin, where he impressed over the course of a number of seasons, and that form secured him the summer move to Bala.
“Llyr is a very good player and to add his qualities to what we feel is a very competitive group, is a big positive indeed.
“I thank Colin Caton and all at Bala for allowing the loan move to take place. We look forward to welcoming Llyr to the football club and seeing him in action for us when our season does finally get under way.”
Elsewhere in the JD Cymru North on transfer deadline day, Penrhyncoch secured the return of club legend Jonathan Foligno. After a decade with the Roosters, the 39-year-old had moved to top-flight club Aberystwyth Town last summer and made nine appearances for the Black and Greens, scoring one goal in the 20/21 season. The club also announced the signing of Tyler Watts yesterday. 24-year-old Watts, who joins from Wessex League side Fleet Town, is capable of playing at centre midfield, in attack and on the wing.
Another deadline day signing saw Conwy Borough add yet another great attacking option to their side as they brought in young forward Alex Roberts from Llandudno. The Tangerines already have the likes of the prolific Corrig McGonigle and super summer signings Conor Davies and Meilir Williams in their attacking ranks.
Ruthin Town announced the loan signing of defender Harry Owen and 2019/20 JD Cymru North champions Prestatyn Town unveiled centre back Gareth Roberts as their newest signing.
