PICTURE shows Dylan Sion Jones and brother Tomos Llewelyn Jones in action for Nefyn United.
MANY a club in North Wales and beyond will have family traditions ingrained deeply into their history.
One of those currently on the forefront of promoting that is North Wales Coast West Premier side Nefyn United who have plenty of relatives representing the club in one way or another at this moment in time.
One of the Penwaig’s top scorers from last season Dylan Sion Jones (below) and another star performer, Tomos Llewelyn Jones, are brothers who star week in, week out for the club.

Attacker Dylan Sion (above! notched up 24 goals in all competitions as the club finished as Gwynedd League runners-up during a memorable campaign.
The former Trefor, Llanllyfni, Pwllheli and Nantlle Vale player proved to be a real key player once more for a club he has now played for more than a decade.
His brother Tomos Llewelyn (below) is a winger who never stops working hard for Nefyn.

He was really beginning to hit form just before the season was called off – and was selected as AFEFootballNews fans’ Gwynedd League Player of the Month in January 2020 for his efforts. That month, the club beat Caergybi, Llanystumdwy and Trearddur Bay Bulls and also played out a thrilling 4-4 draw at Llangoed.
All in all, Jones scored five goals from out wide and also provided a number of assists during a memorable season for himself and the club.
The pair made more than 60 appearances for Nefyn in all competitions last season – which is incredible to think the season ended in March due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Aside from these two, there are a host of other family ties currently at Nefyn too.
Full-back Gethin Trenholme and brother Carwyn are a big part of the team, as is their father Iwan Evans – who is club groundsman and kitman.
You also have centre back Llyr Pennant (below on the right) and his brother Iwan, who was recently promoted to the first team from the club’s recently reformed Reserves side.

Also at the club are brothers Ifan and Deio Gwilym, whose father Owain was also a big part of the club previously and was an S4C star on Jabas Jones and C’Mon Midffild!
There is also another trio of brothers; Meirion (centre back), Dafydd (goalkeeper) and Ifan Jones (striker), whose father Eric was a goalkeeper for the club for a number of years.
The list of related players at the club has been endless over the years and it’s clear to see that Nefyn United means a lot to the people of the community – now and historically speaking.
