EXPERIENCED defender who was playing in his tenth consecutive season with Penrhyncoch last season.
Foligno returned to the club, who finished eighth in the JD Cymru North last season, in 2010 after leaving for Penparcau and went on to play a big part in some of the Roosters’ most successful season’s including when they were promoted to the second tier.
The 39-year-old centre back first joined Penrhyncoch in 2000 from Llanrhystud before signing for Aberystwyth Town’s Reserve side in 2001. He returned a year later spending another two years at Cae Baker before moving to North Wales side Caernarfon Town in 2004.
He returned for the third time in 2005 before joining Aberystwyth Town once more. He left Park Avenue for the final time in 2007 joining Penparcau where he spent three years, before returning to the Roosters in 2010.
Over the years, he’s been a fantastic servant to the club, including during last season where he was again solid at the back.
Last summer, the evergreen Foligno earned a move back to top-flight club Aberystwyth. And it’s proved to be a great move for the player and the club, as he’s made eight appearances and scored one goal for the Black and Greens so far during the 2020/21 season which is currently on hold.
A well-known and well-respected footballer in the Ceredigion area, it’s great to see him playing top-flight football.
