AFE’s Stars of the 2019/20 season: Kevin Lloyd (Llanrug Utd/Mountain Rangers)

PICTURE shows Lloyd with Llanrug United manager David Noel Williams.

A VASTLY-EXPERIENCED and well-respected forward who enjoyed yet another great season in 2019/20.

Lloyd’s senior career in North Wales goes as far back as 2004/05, when he was Player of the Season at Y Felinheli – after previously playing for Everton and Wrexham’s academies.

Spells at Caernarfon Town and Bontnewydd followed before Lloyd joined the likes of current Caernarfon Town hero Darren Thomas playing in Wales’ top flight for Llangefni Town in 2007/08 – a season which led to relegation for the club.

He then enjoyed a loan spell at Bangor City before playing for Caernarfon and Llangefni once more, as well as Llanrug United and Conwy Borough.

Last season saw the talented forward back at Llanrug with a wealth of experience under his belt and he bagged 10 goals in 19 appearances for the Welsh Alliance One side. In January, he signed for Anglesey League side Mountain Rangers, where he scored three goals before the season came to an end.

Lloyd has continued to prove his goalscoring prowess in recent friendlies for Rangers too, scoring a hat-trick in a 4-3 win over Llanfairpwll.

A naturally gifted forward who really knows where the goal is.
