AFE’s Stars of the 2019/20 season: Lewis Connor (Cemaes Bay/Llanerchymedd)

A PLAYER who was something of a cup hero for Anglesey League champions Cemaes Bay last season.

A towering and commanding defender who has always had goals in him, Connor returned to the club alongside a long list of other familiar names in the summer of 2019 as the old band got back together for the Anglesey Leagues last ever season.

And he proved to be a goal scoring star early on too, notching goals in the Elias Cup (2) and Lucas Oil Cup (5), as well as a goal in the 20-0 hammering of Holyhead Town Reserves in the Anglesey League.

But when January came, Connor decided to make the switch back to Llanerchymedd, where he had again been an influential figures in previous years. With the club having dropped down from the Welsh Alliance to the Gwynedd League, its squad was filled with young players and subsequently ended the season with zero points.

Connor though will be staying with the Llan squad which, just as Cemaes did last season, has now brought back many a familiar face who have dropped down the divisions to play for the club who will play in North Wales Coast West Division zone (tier five) when a season can get underway.

A player who can play anywhere across the back line, he’s an effective asset both defensively and on the attack.
