IT WAS mainly the young players who really caught the eye at Ogwen Tigers in the Gwynedd League last season.
Under the guidance of manager Mike Williams, the likes of goalkeeper Shane Owen and his brother Leon, as well Mubarak Braganca and many more young stars made an impact for the club.
But there’s one man who, although he rarely got the recognition he deserved, was absolutely superb throughout – club captain Colin Ball.
The experienced central midfielder, 38, showed plenty of energy, fantastic leadership and his commitment to the team was also brilliant, as he rarely missed a game or training, so I’ve been told.
Mainly deployed as a defensive midfielder, Ball was part of the then Mynydd Tigers who won the Anglesey League on the final day of the season v Bryngwran Bulls in 2017/18 and has had a massive impact for the club over the years.
However, with the club now folded, he has moved on to Arriva Bangor who will be paying in the North Wales Coast West Division One when a season eventually starts.
