PICTURE by Llanerchymedd shows their home ground – Tan Parc.
IN THE 2019/20 campaign, Llanerchymedd picked up a grand total of zero points. However, I think it’s fair to say that it would be an absolute tragedy if that were to be the case again come the end of 2020/21.
That is because some very familiar, and very talented, faces have made their way back to Tan Parc over the last three weeks or so.
As former manager Meirion Grieves (left below) returns to the club alongside assistant manager Iwan Williams (right below, who spent time playing at Bro Goronwy last season), there seems to be promising times ahead ones more for the green army.

Among the three most impressive returnees to the club are Matthew Jones, Callum McMinimee and Dan Thomas – all of whom played for Cymru North (Division Two) side Llangefni Town for a number of seasons.
Talented Jones is one of the finest forwards around and has been a real thorn in many a defender’s side during his four season’s at Llangefni, even finishing as the club’s top scorer in 2019/20. Upon returning to Llanerchymedd, Jones said: “It was a great learning curve for me moving from Tan Parc to Llangefni Town for the four seasons I was there, I have nothing but admiration towards the club, staff and fans of Llangefni and hoped I entertained a few along the way and wish them well for the future.
“But I’ve now decided to make the move back home to Llannerchymedd and hope with the experiences I’ve gained will help the Medd back to where they belong, the top end of the league.”

McMinimee is an attacking midfielder, who can also play out wide, and has been a big part of Llangefni Town’s recent success as well as having had stints at Bodedern, Amlwch and Llan over the years.
Thomas, known as ‘Bambi’, is one of the best central defenders on the island and is another one departed Tan Parc to play higher league football four seasons ago. Now back at Llan alongside good friends, he’ll be eager to get the club back to where it belongs.
As if the capture of this trio wasn’t enough, Llan have also brought in a few other fan favourites from years gone by. Gethin Davies has returned after a spell away with Gwalchmai, Gethin Hughes returns from Bro Goronwy and Andy Swindells has signed on after a season away from the game. Full-back Dylan Owen and centre back Hari Jones, last with Trearddur Bay Bulls also return to bolster the back line.
Striker Mark Jones and defender Lewis Connor, who were with the club in the Gwynedd League last season are also staying on and the club has also confirmed that goalkeeper Kenny Hughes is returning between the sticks and midfielder Gavin Sharpe is also back at Tan Parc.

Add to that the duo of versatile Tomos Jones (left above) and talented Deion Evans (right above), who also return and you have yourself a fantastic squad of players who must surely be fancied to enjoy great success in 2020/21.
I for one can’t wait to see what they can do!
