Anglesey League: Top scorers so far (all competitions)

Andy Williams (Cemaes Bay) – 15 goals (5 in cup)

Veteran striker who, after being with Gwynedd League side Bro Goronwy for several seasons, is now proving his worth in the Anglesey League with new club Cemaes.

He’s leading the line very well – both alongside Steven Whittaker and on his own during the latter’s absence through injury. Can he end the season as the top scorer?

Sam Williams (Mountain Rangers) – 14 goals

The Rangers’ main man always looks like scoring and he’s been in formidable form in their opening games of the season – even hitting four on his Anglesey League debut.

He’s almost expected to score in every game by now and that tells you all you need to know about his fox-in-the-box goal scoring prowess.

Scott Hughes (Arriva Bangor) – 14 goals (4 in cup)

Now in his third season of playing with The Busmen in the Anglesey League, Hughes has hit over a century of goals in the previous two combined.

He’ll undoubtedly be one of the favourites to finish as the league’s top scorer this time around as he’s easily the best finisher in the division on his day.

Steven Whittaker (Cemaes Bay) – 11 goals (4 in cup)

Another experienced forward to add to Cemaes’ ranks for the season ahead, ‘Tyco’ returned to School Lane during the summer, having previously won this league with the club.

Having spent several seasons playing at a higher level, Whittaker’s experience is showing already this season and he’s already in the mix to finish as top scorer.

Casey Boylan (Valley) – 11 goals

Another player who’s dropped down from a higher league to return to his former club for 2019/20. Central midfielder Boylan came back to Cae Mwd from Bodedern Athletic and has inspired them onto a title charge.

They’ll be underdogs for the league but if Boylan’s form is anything to go by, then they may just shock the big boys year. His work rate on and off the ball is superb and he’s made a real difference in Dan Jones’ team.

Keenan Downey (Cemaes Bay) – Seven goals (1 in cup)

Another one who’s been at Bodedern Athletic recently (seems to be a theme this season!). Downey is a commanding central midfielder who loves to drive his team forward.

He’s got a goal or two in him as well – as he’s proved already this term.
