AFEFootballNews to sponsor Mike Williams for the season ahead.

AFEFootballNews is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring Llandudno FC’s Mike Williams for the season ahead.

The 30-year-old centre back has been ever-present in the Seasiders’ three year stint in the Welsh Premier League and during that time, has established himself as one of the League’s best defenders.

In his first season in the top flight he helped his side reach the Europa League qualifiers in a truly unforgettable season which saw them go on to take on IFK Goteborg of Sweden.

Last season proved to be a tougher task for the club, but Williams was once again instrumental as he helped steer his side away from any possibility of being relegated.

Formerly a Wales under-21 international, Williams came out of retirement to join Llandudno back in August 2015, despite having being diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both hips.

This meant that he had the opportunity to play in the same team as his brother Marc, who is also still at the club and the pair have become vital components within the side since then.

Before signing on at Maesdu Park, he featured for the likes of Wrexham, Kidderminster Harriers and Altrincham and has also played for the Welsh semi-pros.

Despite being a centre back, Williams has a habit of popping up to score goals for his side. Last season, he finished as the club’s second top-scorer with four goals to his name and the season before he added two to the board.

He has made a fine start to the 2017/18, putting in some brilliant displays in Llandudno’s opening four games of the campaign as they currently remain unbeaten. His finest moment came in the shock 1-0 win over title chasers Connah’s Quay, as he was awarded the Man of the Match award.

AFEFootballNews is proud to sponsor Mike for the 2017/18 Welsh Premier League campaign and will be keeping a close eye on both his and Llandudno’s progress throughout the season.

Best of luck Mike!
