Best Pictures and facts from the weekend …

Another weekend of thrilling Premier League football has been and gone as match week 6 presented us with more magical moments. There was controversy at Old Trafford prior to kick off as skipper Wayne Rooney was dropped, but in the end Mourinho’s tactics payed off as United ran riot with a 4-1 win over current league champions Leicester City. Arsenal produced a stunning first half display scoring 3 goals in 40 minutes to sweep Chelsea under the carpet. Liverpool produced a brilliant display to beat Hull City 5-1 and Bournemouth ran out as surprising 1-0 winners against a poor Everton side.

Finally – Paul Pogba netted his first goal for United in their resounding win over Leicester.

 

This goal from Junior Stanislas was enough to hand Bournemouth a win over Everton, who were unusually poor on the day.

Coutinho scored yet another worldie for Liverpool as they thumped Hull City 5-1 at Anfield.

 

Well done Son – Heung Min-Son continued his impressive form to hand Spurs a 2-1 away win against Middlesbrough.

Stoke manager Mrak Hughes does his best to motivate Swiss winger Xherdan Shaqiri, but they remain winless, having drawn 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion.

Cool as you like – Sergio Aguero marked his return from suspension with two goals against Swansea, including this finely chipped penalty.

Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil makes it 3-0 to the home side against Chelsea in a crazy first 40 minutes at the Emirates.

Southampton celebrate their 3-0 away win at West Ham with Saints’ fans at the end of the match.

Some interesting  facts from the weekend:

Man Utd led by a four-goal margin at half-time in a PL match for the first time since February 2001 v Arsenal (5-1 at half-time, 6-1 at full-time). Sign of better things to come perhaps?

Since Jurgen Klopp’s first match in charge Liverpool have scored 71 goals in the Premier League; more than any other side. Lethal.

South Korean attacker Son Heung-min has had a hand in seven goals (six goals, one assist) in his last six PL appearances for Spurs, already equaling his tally from last season. Impressive.

Since leaving Stoke Tony Pulis is unbeaten in his five Premier League matches against them (W4 D1). Although they got their first point against him this weekend!

Their win against Sunderland was only the second time that Crystal Palace have come from two goals down to win a match in PL history (Burnley 2-3 Palace in Jan 2015, the other). Turn around in fortunes.

After six Premier League matches without scoring against Chelsea, Arsenal found the net twice in the opening 14 minutes. The long wait for a win against their London rivals is finally over.
